I can’t make it because I purchased my apartment at full price and have to actually work for a living. However, I would like to put in my 2 cents. This so called “community room” is complete BS to many cooperators such as myself. I know ahead of time I will never use it. Just like many other rooms and features here, if you don’t have a wife and kids, your money goes down the drain. I do, however use the gym and I pay a fee monthly, like many other cooperators. I have been going for 7 years, during which time not one single piece of equipment has been replaced. The place is filthy and in disrepair. Many things do not work, despite the fact, according to the annual financial documents, the gym provides a surplus of over $150,000 per annum which is used for other priorities. I have called the “office” a number of times over the years, and they always tell me the management and the board are fixing that. Well, it never happens. I am going to hold off and not state the obvious, Lets just say that generally speaking, a certain sect of folks who seem to have all the power also do not generally use gyms, tend to get everything they want at the expense of all others. I have been using different gyms for more than 35 years of my life, and this is the most ill-managed of all of them. It is not fair, and that is not right.
We have lived here even longer and still no gym upgrades after more than one request and reports of dangerous conditions! Also, the heat in the elevator is unbearable on a hot day- why are their no fans installed??
